How Care-Connect handles your personal information. Last updated October 4, 2026.

What data we collect

  • When you register or book a session we collect your name, student number, year level, section, gender, age, phone number, and email address.
  • When you book, we also collect your appointment details (counselor, date, time, in person or online) and, if you choose to share them, your concern category and notes.
  • We keep records of your consent and basic logs of the messages we send you.

Why we collect it

  • To schedule and manage your counseling sessions, to verify that you are a student of the school, to send you confirmations and reminders, and to help your counselor prepare for your session.
  • We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who can see it

  • You can see your own information and appointments.
  • Your assigned counselor can see your booking details and concern notes.
  • Authorized guidance office administrators can see booking records to manage schedules, counselors, and reports. Access is limited to staff who need it for their role.
  • No one else at the school is given access through Care-Connect.

How it is protected

  • Your phone number and concern notes are encrypted before they are stored.
  • Passwords are never stored in plain text. They are hashed.
  • Registering an account and looking up your appointments require a one-time code (OTP) sent to your phone or email.
  • All traffic to Care-Connect uses HTTPS.

  • Vercel: hosting for the website.
  • Semaphore: sending text messages (SMS).
  • Resend: sending emails.
  • Jitsi: online counseling video sessions, run on a self-hosted Jitsi server operated for this system.
